Luminescent Nano Pigment
(LNP).
Explanation
The term LASER is an acronym: Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Lasers are capable, depending on its design, of emitting most of the wavelengths starting from the ultraviolet wavelengths to the infrared wavelengths of the electromagnetic spectrum. A typical laser can emit usually only one certain wavelength; for an example a typical red laser emits light at a wavelength of 650 nm (10-9 m).
An Infra-Red (IR) laser emits a wavelength in the Near Infra-Red area (NIR) of the electromagnetic spectrum (NIR area is about 800 nm to 2500 nm). An IR laser is shown in Figure 7.

Application/Usage in Indisputable KEY
An Infra-Red laser/light source is used to excite the LNP (enable radiation of the LNP) in the ink that is used to mark codes to the end of boards. Use of LNP and Infra-Red laser/light source is one alternative solution to enhance automated coding and reading and thus tracking of boards in sawmills’ production line.
